Two are Better than One

Two are Better than One

In the book of Genesis we learn about how God formed Eve from the rib of Adam while Adam was asleep, after which God introduces the concept of marriage to them and commands that they be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. We see from the early beginnings of man that man was blessed further only after the woman was given to him. God had already established that it was not good that man should be alone and he would form a suitable helper for him. What we don’t think about or take into consideration is the fact that there was something in the earth that the man and woman had to subdue in their unity that God did not disclose. Immediately after he tells them to not eat from the forbidden tree the serpent comes to tempt them. The way it all played out then is how it typically plays out now. As soon as you come into contact with your divine spouse the enemy will come to attack but over time he has become more developed and crafty with his attacks, attempting to dissolve things before they can even start.

Adam and Eve in their ignorance had no chance to stand up against Satan without God, just as your relationships have no chance to flourish without him either. In their togetherness did God tell them to subdue the earth, which included Satan within it, however God did not tell Adam to subdue the earth in Adam’s singleness, Why not? Because with God, “one man can pursue a thousand or two ten thousand to fight” (Deuteronomy 32:30). With the woman man has more power, but Satan comes to deceive the mind so that marriage is burdensome and togetherness is a strain. In our acceptance of this lie he gets to dwell subtly in our lives, infiltrating our walks with God; presenting us with lifestyles of devils, which ultimately results in us making choices that God does not approve of. By doing so he can encourage us to sin more, drown out the holy spirit within us so that if we find ourselves facing death, we would have died without repentance. This is a heavy revelation, but a real one and the sooner you understand it you will see why Jesus had to come to set us free, free from the captivity and spiritual bondage of Satan and sin.

The strategy has been to dismantle the enemy and we are the enemy of Satan. He knows that once we awaken to him as the true enemy and not each other it is only a matter of time before he is completely destroyed, and in these last days his time is coming close but if his time is coming close then so is the time of the sinners and those walking lukewarm with the Most High. With that premise why would he allow you to discover him and his nature and not continue to distract us with things that do not matter, keeping us busy and blissfully ignorant while he slowly steals from, kills, and destroys us. With God we have extraordinary power in the spiritual and physical realm as individuals, but in our togetherness and the favor we obtain through marriages, this power is only intensified. If Satan can deceive us with his presence and keep us unaware, play off of our logic and beguile us with lusts of the flesh, we will always see God’s blessings and covenants as something we are repelled from and we lose the fight. It is not to say that we cannot accomplish much spiritually by ourselves, but it is more to say that “two is better than one; because they have good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one can prevail against him two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiatastes 4:9-12).

This is such a blessing. This message feels like my Father is speaking directly to me. Thank you.

This message was on point. It reminds me of that movie Not Easily broken and how heavy that attack became after they married. The heavier the attack the more blessed….
